Why choose My Little Patch Bandana Bibs?

bandana bib bicycle grey

Our bandana bibs have a 100% cotton absorbent top layer which wicks away dribble and is gentle against baby's skin. Plus an option of having a super soaker bamboo insert... 100 % cotton is most efficient at absorbing dribble as it is able to soak up to 27 times its weight in water! (Many other dribble bibs use man made fibres which are less absorbent and can often irritate the skin!)
Our unique and amazingly soft minkee lining prevents the dribble soaking through to baby's clothes and chest...helping to prevent rashes.

Hooter Hiders....

It is National Breastfeeding Awareness week and I thought I would share a great article I found in The Mail today that really made me smile. Plus, what a perfect opportunity to launch the latest My Little Patch mother and baby product! In America it is best known as the Hooter Hider (I just adore that name!), whilst over in the UK we are a little more conservative and call it a breastfeeding or nursing cover. Personally I am preferring a name that is a little more ‘out there’…so your suggestions are most welcome….

I am a breastfeeding Mum and I personally don’t mind feeding my little girl when I am out and about. I don’t really get embarrassed because it’s natural, and am used to it now after my 4th baby; I do find however that some other people can give you a bit of a disapproving look. OK, I may well be in the middle of Wetherspoons in Brighton on a very busy Saturday, but needs must and Lola was hungry!! Besides, I don’t give others disapproving looks when they are eating their lunch.(well maybe some ;o) ) I am discreet and generally try to cover up with a muslin or a blanket…However Lola is a bit of a fidget when feeding and very curious as to what is going on around her…so on this occasion she did unlatch and I did have a boob with a mind of its own (a little like an out of control hose pipe…hugely embarrassing!!!) and we made rather a mess.

That evening I looked up to see if anything was on the market to help breastfeeding mums who struggle to cover up. That is when I discovered the Hooter Hiders…at nearly £30 from Mothercare I thought…you know I have a mountain of fabric…I’ll have a go at making one myself.

So here it is…If you fancy one of my 'hooter hiders' you can choose from a range of fabric options and I will custom make one for you.

Breastfeeding Cover

They are beautiful, easy to use, machine washable and multipurpose. As a breastfeeding/nursing cover or for expressing they offer great coverage, providing privacy and focus for mum and baby. The nursing cover features a rigid neckline and adjustable neck strap so that mum (and only mum) can see baby and it is 100% cotton so allows airflow (baby won’t get too hot). Can also double up as a lightweight blanket or sunshield cover over a buggy or baby carrier.

Oh...and I am still not sure what to call it...so your suggestions would be great!!
